qualcomm mentioned snapdragon 678 is optimized for unity, messiah,neoX, and unreal engine 4 among other top games , means these all are useful for making games , i mean these are game making softwares. unreal engine was developed by epic games , and it is so popular, this tool is useful to make games with visual objects and graphic oriented games.
the snapdragon x12 lte modern can support download speeds up to 600 Mbps(mega bytes per second) and upload speeds up to 150 Mbps(mega bytes per second). Which means online games will be smooth. with that download and upload speeds anyone can play any online game without any lag (signal strength depends up on isp’s).
i watched many reviews on youtube and the temperatures while gaming are around 46-47 on front side and around 43-45 on back side. as this is new processor optimizing games for this processor will take time and “till qualcomm replaces it with another chip in that segment” , but my guess game companies won’t care only some companies who want to give best gaming experience will make their games optimize for this processor.
don’t expect too much from this processor , after seeing so many reviews i don’t want to recommend the phones comes with this processor. if you want to but just be informed that this processor cannot handle too much gpu cpu intense games.
for gaming i will not choose this processor, but it is ok in other day to day usage. so let’s wait for game designers to optimize their games for this processor .
